Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Regional Controller to oversee the financial operations within a region for a company within the construction industry. The ideal candidate must have experience in percentage of completion accounting and be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. This company is growing and continues to make acquisitions of smaller companies in their industry across the U.S.
This position is HYBRID
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee financial operations for regional construction projects, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Manage and implement percentage of completion accounting for revenue recognition.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including job cost analysis and project profitability.
Collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and construction industry standards.
Lead and develop a regional finance team, ensuring best practices in accounting and financial management.
Conduct financial audits and implement internal controls.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on construction or project-based industries.
Strong knowledge of percentage of completion accounting and construction accounting practices.
Ability to travel some to locations within the Midwest Region. Travel is approx. 20%
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
