The ideal candidate for our Tax Manager position will work directly with the managing shareholder of the firm and will meet the following criteria:
* Have 5+ years of prior local and/or regional CPA firm experience.
* Currently possess a CPA license in good standing. Additional accreditation is also a plus (CFE, CFF, ABV, CVA, EA, etc.).
* Have at least five years of experience with preparing and reviewing federal and multi-state tax returns (individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts, and non-profits)
* Have at least five years of experience supervising and training tax staff members including reviewing their work, providing constructive review notes and researching complicated tax issues
* Have a least five years of experience with direct client contact, including interim and year-end tax planning, addressing questions and issues in a proactive manner, and monitoring the deadlines and due dates of various tax returns and estimated payments.
* Have multiple years of experience representing clients in IRS and state related tax matters, including audits and responding to various notices
* Experience in accounting and financial statements engagements (compilations, reviews, and audits) and Quickbooks experience is also preferred. Business valuation, forensic accounting, litigation support and/or consulting experience is a plus.
* Possess excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, good written and oral communication skills, strong deadline management skills and the ability to work within a budget, as a member of a team and also independently to complete the tasks assigned.
* Possess strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of Prosystem Fx Tax and Prosystem Fx Engagement is a preferred, but not required.
* Be able to manage workflow and deadlines and work in a paperless environment in an efficient manner. This position will also assist in monitoring tax deadlines for clients using our deadline management software and be involved in proactive tax planning and management of our clients. This position will also assist in billing applicable services to the clients they work on.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and abilities.
