Summary: We are looking for a talent acquisition specialist with high volume full-cycle recruiting experience as we build our HR team at Goldfish Swim School. A successful recruiter will collaborate with department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. They should also be able to attract candidates by using strategic sourcing skills. Our ideal Talent Acquisition Specialist holds an academic HR background combined with work experience in screening, interviewing and assessing candidates. Ultimately, the responsibilities of the Talent Acquisition Specialist are to ensure our company attracts, hires and retains the best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline.

  • Must be local to the Metro Detroit Area for this position.
  • 3 days per week in the office in Northville, MI & 2 days remote.
  • Hours: 10am-6pm, working 2 Saturdays per month for 4 hours a day, this offers flexibility to take a half day during the week when you work on a weekend day.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing resumes and applications to determine if candidates meet basic qualifications
  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
  • Maintaining Applicant Tracking System (ATS) by keeping candidate records up to date
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule
  • Assess applicants' relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes
  • Effectively fill and maintain optimal personnel in open positions
  • Onboard new employees in order to become fully integrated
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation
  • Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the rest of the team
  • Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
Skills & Experience:

  • 1-3 years experience as a full cycle corporate or staffing recruiter preferably in high volume recruiting
  • Hands-on experience with recruiting software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • BS/MS in Human Resources Management or in related field
