PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters). <br> <br> As the <strong> Supply Chain Planning Engineer </strong> with our Aftermarket Parts Distribution team you will support our dealers through the Parts Distribution network to get parts to our customers as quickly, efficiently, and safely as possible. Our goal is to get the right part to the right place at the right time. We cover a wide variety of areas from demand planning and inventory management to dealer order support and receiving, storage, and shipping operations. <br> <br> <strong> Additional Information: </strong> <ul> <li> <strong> Location: </strong> Morton, IL (United States) </li> <li> <strong> Required Travel: </strong> 10% (Domestic) </li> <li> <strong> Relocation Assistance Offered: </strong> No </li> </ul> <strong> What You Will Do: </strong> <ul> <li> Working independently as well as working effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams. </li> <li> Gathering, analyzing, and reporting data on automation equipment performance, demand, and demand variability. </li> <li> Gathering, analyzing, and reporting data about inbound and outbound functions throughout the automation equipment within the facility. </li> <li> Completing capital project implementations for automation equipment improvements and upgrades, including procurement, installation, and place-into-service. </li> <li> Maintain facility product slotting rules to align with inventory profile changes over time within automated systems. </li> <li> Look for continuous improvement opportunities throughout the entire facility and make expert recommendations for process changes to improve results. </li> <li> Lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams targeting automation/facility improvements. </li> <li> Collaborate with engineers globally to benchmark best practices and implement improvements. </li> <li> Working with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) to optimize setup for local business conditions. <ul> <li> Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time. </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <br> <strong> What You Have (Basic Requirements): </strong> <ul> <li> <strong> Business Process Improvement: </strong> Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing, and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities. <ul> <li> Analyzes business processes, identifies alternative solutions to outdated processes and assesses their feasibility. </li> <li> Evaluates financial, cultural, technological, and other factors that need to be addressed. </li> <li> Recommends new approaches that seek the use of advanced technology. </li> <li> Works to overcome BPI resistance from managers, the labor force, and other groups. </li> </ul> </li> <li> <strong> Analytical Thinking: </strong> Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. </li> <li> <strong> Problem Solving: </strong> Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. </li> <li> <strong> Project Management: </strong> Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives. <ul> <li> Utilizes preferred tools, techniques, and methods for estimating project cost and time. </li> <li> Plans, estimates, staffs, organizes, and monitors significant projects. </li> <li> Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans. </li> <li> Conducts regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients. </li> <li> Maintains open communication among project participants and interested parties. </li> <li> Communicates reporting requirements; creates monitoring and control mechanisms. </li> </ul> </li> <li> <strong> Logistics Management: </strong> Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products. <ul> <li> Manages logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning. </li> <li> Implements and maintains monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date. </li> <li> Develops and analyzes logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory. </li> <li> Works with historical, legislative, and practical issues associated with domestic freight. </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <strong> What You Have (Preferred Qualifications): </strong> <ul> <li> Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. </li> <li> Experience with Dematic Automation implementation, automation report creation, automation metric reporting, and automation system management. </li> <li> Experience with EWM Warehouse Management. </li> <li> Previous experience with AutoCAD. </li> </ul> <strong> What You Will Get: </strong> <br> <br> Through it all, we are <strong> one team </strong> - creating and delivering world-class components and solutions superior to the competition.
