Position Summary and Responsibilities:
As our Sr. Data Analyst, you'll be the data maestro behind the scenes, orchestrating the extraction, transformation, and delivery of critical information from our community health center's Epic Community Connect EHR. Your work will empower clinicians, administrators, and decision-makers to improve patient care, streamline operations, and enhance overall health outcomes.
  • Data Extraction and Reporting:
    • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to understand reporting requirements.
    • Utilize Epic's Clarity or similar report writer software to create a variety of reports.
    • Develop complex Structured Query Language (SQL) queries to extract relevant data.
    • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports related to patient demographics, clinical outcomes, financial performance, and operational metrics.
  • Customization and Optimization:
    • Customize existing reports to meet specific departmental needs.
    • Optimize report performance by fine-tuning queries and ensuring data accuracy.
    • Work closely with end-users to refine report formats and layouts.
  • Data Integrity and Security:
    • Ensure data privacy and security compliance during extraction and distribution.
    • Validate data accuracy and consistency across different reports.
    • Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement access controls.
  • Legacy Data Management:
    • Manage historical records that were not converted to Epic.
    • Develop strategies to make legacy data easily accessible for reference.
    • Assist in migrating relevant legacy data into the Epic system.
  • Collaboration and Training:
    • Train end-users on report utilization and interpretation.
    • Collaborate with other analysts, data scientists, and informatics teams.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects related to data analytics and reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and Epic updates.
    • Propose enhancements to existing reports and explore new reporting capabilities.
    • Contribute to the overall data-driven decision-making culture within the organization

Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or commensurate work experience.
  • Epic proficiency (or willingness to obtain it) for Epic .
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in EHR data extraction and reporting.
  • Proficiency in SQL and report writing tools (e.g., Epic Clarity, Crystal Reports, SSRS).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows and terminology
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
