Small Diameter Saw (SDS) Benchman

We are looking for a Small Diameter Saw Benchman  to join our US Blades team in Northport, AL.  We are looking for a hard-working, dedicated employee that's wiling to learn. Come and grow with us!

What you will be doing:

• Inexperienced benchmen start out crating saws while learning to work safely in the saw production environment.
• Operate alternately more than one type of machine tool such as hammers, stretcher rolls, plate leveling machines, gauge grinders and hammer grinders etc.
• Use hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Set-up and operate all available machine tools.
• Perform progressive operations on work involving close tolerances or unusual requirements.
• Uses skillfully all hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Perform complex operations in support of production operations under limited supervision.
• Additional duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• 2+ years manufacturing production experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Vocational trade school or equivalent program a plus.
• Familiarity with working properties of various materials to match customer requirements.
• Demonstrated lean techniques and ability to meet TAKT times.
• Ability to work as part of a team, with behavior that upholds company values and standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Promote safety in the workplace and adhere to the safety standards of the company.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs. frequently. Ability to stand at a minimum of 8 hours per shift.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.
