Broad Function: The Registered Nurse shall be accountable for the leadership of the nursing unit and its activities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The RN shall assess, plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing care delivered to the elders. The RN shall support the implementation and adherence of the facility policies and procedures by subordinate staff and ancillary personnel

Qualifications:

• Must be a Registered Professional Nurse currently licensed in the State of New York.
• Graduate of an approved NLN accredited nursing program with a minimum of Associates Degree in Nursing (BS preferred).
• Ability to provide leadership and supervision to subordinate personnel.
• Genuine interest in gerontology, and an understanding of the special needs of the geriatric resident.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment health screening / background check.
• Proficiency on the MDS and care planning process, PRI Certification preferred
