Here, you’ll be part of a company that values and champions new ways of thinking, work with dynamic individuals, and acquire new skills and experiences that will propel your career to new heights.</b><p><b>Making animals’ lives better makes life better – join our team today!</b><p><div><p><b>Your Role: Quality Control Manager – Microbiology</b><p>This position oversees the Microbiology and Administrative groups within the Quality Control (QC) department and will be responsible for ensuring both units’ operations, scientific robustness, accuracy, and compliance of all tests and procedures to corporate, OSHA, EPA, USDA, cGMPs, and customer requirements as applicable. You will support additional projects, as necessary, to include Research and Development (R&amp;D) initiatives, product transfers, assay optimizations, and other regulatory commitments. The QC Manager oversees the administration of key Quality Systems such as CAPAs, deviations/laboratory investigations, change controls, controlled documents, testing records, etc., within responsible groups and provides support to other functions as the subject matter expert (SME) for microbiology assays in accordance with applicable regulations.<p><b>Your Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>Oversees day-to-day operations of the Microbiology and Administrative groups to prioritize work, resolve issues, develop and institute quality and efficiency improvements, and build relationships with other QC departments and outside stakeholders.</p></li><li><p>Manage performance of individuals within the Microbiology and Administrative groups, conduct regular performance reviews, foster a culture of accountability and actively promotes career development for team members.</p></li><li><p>Develop, implement, or revise testing procedures and policies, ensure appropriate institution of policies, SOPs, and safety procedures, and maintain testing procedures and specifications to current company, industry, and regulatory standards.</p></li><li><p>Provide technical expertise and support for issues or projects involving applicable assays, as well as identify gaps or areas for improvement with methods or protocols.</p></li><li><p>Maintain knowledge and lead implementations of current practices performed to industry and regulatory standards, seek out training, when necessary, and ensures team is appropriately trained.</p></li></ul><p><b>What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications):</b></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of basic scientific principles and techniques, especially those pertaining to microbiological assays.</p></li><li><p>Able to appropriately assess any regulatory or compliance changes to develop action plans and implement changes to ensure continued compliance. </p></li></ul><p><b>What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):</b></p><ul><li><p>Able to review data within the scope of responsible areas and identify errors.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in relevant computer software and programs associated with area. </p></li><li><p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and commitment to customer service (internal and external).</p></li><li><p>Demonstrates an appropriate level of persistence, energy, and organization skills to prioritize work appropriately and deliver against timelines.</p></li></ul><p><i>Don’t<span> meet every single requirement?  Studies have shown underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification.
