The Quality Assurance Technician II is responsible to test and ensure that goods meet manufacturing standards and are free of defects. Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

The Quality Technician II is expected to:

  • Maintain SPC limit at or above the corporate target
  • Complete first piece inspections within 6 hours or less
  • Complete in coming inspections within 25 days or less

· Performs, First Piece / First Article, incoming, in process and final inspections.

· Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products.

· Assists in engineering capability studies.

· Assists in gage repeatability and reproducibility studies.

· Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.

· Assists in creating and revising controlled forms.

· Completes incoming inspection documentation.

· Generates rejected material and product reports.

· Performs movement of inspected materials through the ERP system.

· Assists with writing and updating of SOP’s and Work Instructions

· Manages storage of samples and records.

  • Provides communication to Calibration Technicians of any additions, deletions, or changes to the process gages and equipment

· Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and / or work instructions.

· Completes customer final inspection requirements

This position has no talent management responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

· At least 2-4 years of quality experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

· Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and odors, dusts, mists, fumes and/or airborne particles.
