Job Responsibilities With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina. This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Charleston Dorchester Center TriCounty Stabilization Center, 3685 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405. Responsibilities for this Position Title include but are not limited to: * Under limited supervision, perform duties of registered nurse at TriCounty Crisis Stabilization Center to include direct and indirect care of patients and support of the unit functioning. Work closely with other nurses, staff and physicians on the unit, other agencies and the community to provide crisis stabilization services to patients. * Provides direct nursing services as credentialed to the patients of the CDMHCs and consult with teams regarding medical and nursing issues and perform nursing services which includes but are not limited to nursing assessment, crisis intervention, medication management and monitoring, medication administration and injections. * Provide a full range of nursing care including but not limited to education, identification of obvious symptoms of both physical and mental illness, and treatment of symptoms according to Federal, State and Center policies and procedures. Report urgent and emergent issues to on-call physician and supervisor. * Functions as part of the nursing team and is responsible for medication cart including daily audits to meet state regulatory agency requirements and audits by DMH pharmacy consultant, ordering of medical supplies as needed. * Assesses needs of patient and families and assist in the formulations and implementation of plans of care and evaluation of progress and outcomes. Makes referral to high or lower level of care as needed. Minimum and Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Agency (Facility) Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in nursing and three (3) years' experience; or three-year diploma and three years' experience; or an associate degree in nursing and three years' experience as a Registered Nurse, two (2) years must have been in a community mental program. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed. This position is considered essential and may require reporting for duty in the events of a weather or similar emergency events.
