Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for understanding the project deliverables and creating timelines for different individuals and groups involved in the project to make sure the project remains on track. They must be familiar with the goals of the project and the responsibilities of all involved parties. They are responsible with overseeing the project from beginning to end, they must have solid analytical skills to estimate cost-effectiveness while resolving issues arising during the project’s lifetime. This role involves managing budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

A Concrete Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects that involve concrete work. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Here are the key responsibilities, skills, and qualifications associated with this role:
     Supervises:
  • 1-2 Estimators
  Key Role Responsibilities:
      Project Planning and Scheduling
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with Site Superintendents, Plant Manager, and other stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are considered.
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments to schedules as necessary to address delays and unforeseen issues.
      Budget Management
  • Prepare and manage project budgets.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
     Quality Control and Compliance
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and compliance.
     Client relations and communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status.
  • Address client concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders.
     Risk Management
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Respond to and resolve any issues or emergencies that arise during the project lifecycle.
     Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, permits, and progress reports.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all project closeout documentation is completed and archived appropriately.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • In-depth understanding of concrete construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Outbuild, Procore).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and to adapt to constant change.
     
Education & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • In Lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.


Certifications & Professional Affiliations:
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or similar certification is preferred.
  • Successful completion of OSHA 10, within required timeframe (required).


Working Environment:
  • May require periods of travel.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs.
  • May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
  • Assignment location may include project sites and/or in the office.
  • Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen.
  • Occasional activity: standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling.
Additional Notes
This position reports to the Concrete Operations Manager. This position will be working in a fast-paced environment and will need to be able to have excellent time management skills to reach deadlines.
