Description
Position Classification: PRN
Position Summary: Provide direct and preventative medical care to adult uninsured population. Diagnose and treat chronic and acute patients. Adhere to certifying medical board guidelines, collaborative practice agreement, and Clinic and SHARE Foundation policies and procedures. Work closely with the Clinic LPN and staff to facilitate patient care. Utilize resources for medications, treatments, diagnostic testing, and referrals that are in best interest of low-income patient population.
Qualifications: Current unencumbered Arkansas Advanced Practice Nurse is required. A minimum of 2 years of practical clinic experience treating adult patients strongly preferred. Must have Prescriptive Authority at date of hire. DEA licensure is preferred, but can be obtained within six months of hire. An updated Collaborative Practice Agreement can be provided by Father Bob Allen Charitable Clinic upon hire if needed.

  • Meet productivity expectations outlined by the Director of Father Bob Allen Charitable Clinic.
  • Evaluate chronic and acute patients and document findings in EMR following the SOAP note outline (subjective, objective, assessment, and planning).
  • Provide preventative health care services or make appropriate referrals.
  • Review treatment plan with patients and modify based on patient outcomes.
  • Provide and document disease-specific education or delegate to LPN provide.
  • Order appropriate cost-effective laboratory and diagnostic testing.
  • Ensure lab and diagnostic results are reviewed and findings are communicated to patient.
  • Make referrals to outside facilities and ensure additional costs are explained to patient.
  • Complete medication refills through the EMR or delegate to LPN when appropriate.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal law and adhere to prescribing protocols as outlined in Collaborating Physician Agreement.
  • Utilize on-site medication resources, Prescription Assistance services, and generic medication lists when appropriate.
  • Annually, review the Collaborating Physician Agreement, quality assurance plan, and prescribing protocols and make changes as needed.
  • Documentation must be completed within 48 hours of patient visit.
  • Review and discuss patient care management quarterly with the collaborating physician as outline in the quality assurance plan.
  • Consult with and document communication with Collaborating Physician or other Specialists when care is rendered outside scope of practice.
  • Ensure OSHA and bloodborne pathogen standards are met, and report any violations to the Director.
  • For life-threatening conditions, refer patients to Emergency Room and/or coordinate emergency transportation to appropriate facility.
  • Continually participate in training specific to scope of practice.
  • For patients who become ineligible for Father Bob Allen Charitable Clinic, coordinate a plan for continuity of care and document
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

  • Comply with the HIPAA Privacy Policy maintaining confidentiality requirements.
Requirements
Sedentary Work
Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief time periods. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
The minimum requirements of this position require this individual to:
  • Hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice
  • Have good manual dexterity
  • Have clarity of vision with/without corrective lenses
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
This position is considered Safety Sensitive under applicable Arkansas laws pertaining to the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes. This position includes as part of the job duties performing life-threatening procedures and regularly working with controlled substances, foods, medicine and highly sensitive and confidential medical information. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of the employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while performing life-threatening procedures and working with controlled substances, foods, medicine and confidential medical information.
