Principal Operations Steward

The ideal candidate will be able to run an efficient and profitable department through productive staffing, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records. While upholding the Mission & Values of J Bar Enterprises, LLC, the Operations Manager will ensure that the daily inventory of staff time is effectively used for the strategic plan and overall goals of the company. This position is responsible for the overall supervision and oversight of direct and secondary reports

Essential Duties

  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet deadlines
  • Trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all reporting staff
  • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the department
  • Maintains reporting systems required by the overall JBar Enterprises standards
  • Monitors and controls the performance of the department using appropriate reports, tracking systems and surveys.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
  • Monitors technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll and safety records
  • Maintains knowledge of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases
  • Work with Procurement for purchases to meet equipment replacement and growth requirements
  • Directs the effective and efficient efforts of the Route Operations and Support Services Departments.
  • Ensure all daily scheduled routes are completed to JBar productivity and quality standards
  • Develop Operations metrics and attend weekly Management Team Meeting
  • Create Action Plan for negative metric variances
  • Create Action Plan to address Operations related UDE's
  • Utilize ProSoft for all reporting and documentation
  • Manage Operations budget
  • Set Operations department yearly budget, and ensure that the budget does not exceed 5%
  • Achieve productivity goal set by CEO
  • Achieve profit goal set by CEO
  • Achieve quality goal set by CEO
  • Complete special projects as requested by CEO

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of Operations Management/Leadership experience, leading teams of 30 or more personnel

Skills and Physical Requirements

  • Geographical knowledge of service area and/or efficiency in using mobile mapping apps (google maps)
  • General maintenance and safety knowledge.
  • Knowledge operating electronic work tablets to track mileage, down time, and other work-related reports.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from managers to accomplish essential duties.
  • Strong organization, detailed oriented, and time management skills.
  • Sits, walks or stands for 4–8 hours within a given day while delivering or servicing portable restrooms.
  • Frequently lifts, transfers, or moves up to 80 lbs.
  • Frequently moves about, bends, stoops, kneels, climbs stairs, or ladders.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are necessary to perform the essential job duties. 

Working Conditions

Frequently travels to/from client locations and works in outdoor weather locations, exposed to various environments such as rain, wind, or heat. Frequently exposed to cleaning chemicals and/or other disinfectants. Frequently uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). May be exposed to a noisy environment while completing daily tasks. Requires contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, or otherwise); determining tasks, priorities, and goals; and being exact with any requested written reports for documentation purposes.
