PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary purpose of your job position is to perform all patient exams with the highest degree of skill, fully utilizing all radiographic, fluoroscopic, and CAT scan equipment and protocol to consistently obtain images which demonstrate diagnostic levels of radiographic density, contrast, and resolution. You will respond to on-demand requests for service in a timely manner. DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY: As a Radiologic Technologist - CT Certified, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operates radiographic and fluoroscopic fixed equipment. Operates the standard C-Arm under both sterile and non sterile conditions. Operates and familiar with techniques for portable x-ray unit. Understanding of EPIC. Has had training & experience starting IV's. Produces the expected levels of production (volume) at reasonable speeds and on schedule. Experience with MRI scanning. Repeat rate at 6% or below. Properly utilizes all radiation protection/shielding procedures for patients and staff. Properly attends to the physical safety of patients and staff. Assures all areas are clean and orderly and supplies are maintained for all exams and procedures. Provides all services to patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Utilizes departmental and hospital information systems as necessary for patient care. Changes incorrect exams to correct exams in EPIC. Puts in a help desk ticket when needed. Communicates with teleradiology when necessary. Adheres to two patient identifiers with all patients. Familiar with the appropriate form if injured on the job. Familiar with Occurrence Worksheet Forms regarding a patient incident (extravasations, allergic reaction, patient fall etc.) Checks PACs after completing exams. Prints films/CDs when requested. Adheres to sterile procedures in the OR. Exercises initiative and actively participates in the reception area, film library, and transport functions. Improves performance through education. Maintains required continuing education credits. Provides patient care appropriately to the following age groups: Neonate - Birth to 1 month. Infant - 1 month to 1 year. Early Childhood - 1 year to 5 years. Late Childhood - 8 years to 12 years. Adolescence - 13 years to 17 years. Young Adult - 18 years to 25 years. Adult - 26 years to 54 years. Sr. Adult - 55 years to 64 years. Geriatric – 64 years +. Evaluates for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms of the above identified patients. Recognizes patients' psychological development and modifies approaches for the above identified patients. Recognizes potential lifestyle changes resulting from illness that will interfere with the discharge plan. Develops plan accordingly. Identifies increased physical/emotional dependency needs. Evaluates availability of support system for the above defined patients. Assesses patients for signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect and refers to appropriate personnel and/or community agency. Interview/communication techniques are age-appropriate. #LI-OnSite EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: • Equal to the completion of a two year AMA approved Radiologic Technology program and one year of clinical training in CAT scanning techniques in a JCAHO approved facility. EXPERIENCE: • Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice in this state. • Must be registered and certified by the ARRT in both radiology and CT.
