Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has continued to exceed our strategic growth initiatives creating opportunity for our current and prospective team members. As a result, a full-time position is open for an experienced engineer in our transportation department. This opportunity is available in our Lexington, SC office.

Responsibilities include developing transportation roadway plans using MicroStation/Geopak; determining appropriate lines and grades, cross sections and all applicable design standards in preparation of roadway plans ranging from complex widening projects to smaller intersections improvements; and serving as the project manager on smaller infrastructure projects as necessary. This position also has the potential to develop into a project manager role on small-scale projects for the candidate with both the willingness and aptitude.

Occasional travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have all of the following:

  • a bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering,
  • at least four years of relevant work experience; and,
  • a PE license in any state with ability to obtain in South Carolina within six months of hired date

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • Experience in SCDOT roadway design projects including preparation of final construction plans
  • Experience with Microstation/Geopak software
  • Experience managing roadway projects
