We live up to our purpose of bravely advancing what's possible to elevate people and planet with our core values of Integrity, Sustainability and Drive guiding everything we do.<p>To continue laying the groundwork, challenge what's possible and celebrate the power of inclusion, we seek to partner with driven individuals who are ready to elevate their career with us.<p><strong> Responsibilities: </strong><br /> <ul><li> Take direction from Journeyman mechanic and/or Foreman </li> <li> Maintain and repair diesel and gasoline powered vehicles, equipment and pumps </li> <li> Maintain and repair basic hydraulic, air, electrical and fuel systems </li> <li> Ability to read electric or hydraulic diagrams </li> <li> Assist with cargo tank testing procedures </li> <li> Hold or acquire air brake certification </li> <li> Hold or acquire confined space entry person certificate </li> <li> Hold or acquire competent person certificate </li> <li> Ability to diagnose and work with electronic metering devices </li> <li> Assist and become certified for Annual Vehicle Inspections (49 CFR 396.19) </li> <li> Basic welding ability </li> <li> Repair tires on trucks, trailers and forklifts </li> <li> Responsible for electronically completing and entering repair orders </li> <li> Must complete work orders, inspection paperwork, and parts requests per company policy &amp; procedures </li> <li> Responsible for mechanics shop housekeeping and tool accountability </li> <li> Be able to work overtime and travel to remote locations as assigned </li> <li> Follow all Company Policies and Procedures </li> <li> Other duties as assigned by supervisor </li> </ul><p><strong> Salary: Union Scale. </strong><strong>Qualifications</strong>: <br /> <ul><li> High School Diploma or GED </li> <li> Valid AK Driver's License </li> <li> Class B CDL preferred </li> <li> Requires work outside in all types of weather </li> <li> Welding experience preferred </li> <li> Must be able to wear a half face respirator </li> <li> Requires HAZWOPER certification </li> <li> Knowledgeable of fuel and lube types desirable </li> <li> Experience with maintenance and repair work on forklifts, heavy and light duty trucks and trailers, crane and diagnostic software preferable </li> </ul> <br /> <strong></strong><p><strong>Competencies</strong>: <br /> <ul><li> Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, pickup trucks, and hand tools. </li> <li> Ability to lift 50 lbs. </li> <li> Ability to use maintenance software to document daily, weekly, and monthly quality control checks </li> </ul><p>Work Schedule to be flexible allowing for rotational scheduling to be mutually agreed upon between company and employee. Agreed upon schedule must remain for minimum of 1 year.
