LA Airport Young Life is seeking a new area director/staff associate. This person will get the chance to rebuild upon 20 years of ministry throughout the Hawthorne/El Segundo communities. There is a huge opportunity to grow a team of college-aged leaders from Loyola Marymount University and young adults from local churches. We have an amazing monthly donor base and a committee that is ready to take on the next chapter. LA Airport Young Life is a very strategic position for the Los Angeles region given its geographic position, socio-economic differences, and ethnic diversity. This person must be a multicultural-minded self-starter with the ability to work with many different kinds of people.

Responsibilities: Spiritual Development -

Creating a spiritually healthy environment in which all those connected to Young Life grow in their faith. Direct Ministry -

"Proclaiming and modeling" includes contact work, club, Campaigners and camp. Actively engage in all three levels of contact work. Leadership Development -

Recruiting, training and supporting a team of volunteers to serve as leaders and committee members. Resource Development/Fundraising -

While a wonderful support base already exists in the community, this person will lend significant leadership to new and existing fundraising efforts, including a requirement to personally fundraise a portion of applicant's salary. Infrastructure Support -

Work with the local committee to build community connections and support the overall organization of the area. Training -

This person will report to the regional director and will be expected to participate in regional and national training events.

Qualifications: A deep and growing faith in Jesus. A call to reach students with the Gospel. Proven leadership skills. Proven relational skills with both kids and adults. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Computer administrative skills such as Microsoft Office and Google Drive Basic understanding of budgeting, cost tracking, financial stewardship Proven time and task management skills. Applicant will need to create and maintain a well-balanced schedule and task list that includes all aspects of ministry, as well as protecting a Sabbath for themself. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Completed college degree. Completion of Young Life Staff Associate training preferred, or another relevant training equivalent.
