Come be a part of something that sustains and enriches the lives of every human being.<br> <br> <b>Job Description:</b> <br> <br>As a <b>Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor</b>, you will oversee the direction and assignment of work within your identified manufacturing engineering (ME) & industrial engineering (IE) group. You will be a first line leader for all ME & IE needs for your group, maintaining relationships with direct reports as well as stakeholders within the manufacturing facility and externally. This is a working supervisory role, and the supervisor will be required to perform engineering work as necessary to achieve the goals of the department. <br> <br> <b>Primary Responsibilities:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Directs the activities and provides guidance to ME & IE team to meet project objectives.</li> <li>Utilizes relevant industry standards and specifications to ensure compliant product development.</li> <li>Provides engineering support for assigned products lines, implementing improvements to better meet customer and company needs.</li> <li>Develops engineering and quality control tests/metrics for production reliability.</li> <li>Cultivates positive relationships with manufacturing personnel, addressing manufacturing issues, implementing cost-saving measures, and coordinating VAVE projects.</li> <li>Establishes test requirements and procedures for new or modified products to ensure quality and functionality.</li> <li>Directly supervises a team of engineers, carrying out supervisory, coaching, and performance management responsibilities.</li> <li>Serves as a direct liaison between the production team and ME & IE team to align strategies and address customer needs effectively.</li> <li>Conducts regular one-on-one meetings with team members to provide feedback, support professional development, and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.</li> <li>Manages bi-annual talent management process for employees, maintaining goals of the department.</li> <li>Provides production support through fixturing, tooling, and CNC programming for assigned product lines.</li> <li>Stays informed of the company's product offerings within assigned area of involvement.</li> <li>Supports leadership for key manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, standard work events, value stream map events, safety improvements, capital projects, and labor efficiency improvements.</li> <li>Develops new production techniques and assists with troubleshooting the manufacturing process.</li> <li>Develops and maintains simple, logic-based software/databases for product line needs.</li> <li>Identifies, documents, and presents cost savings ideas with justification and ROI calculations.</li> <li>Performs additional duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the organization.</li></ul> <br> <b>Required Skills:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Comfortable coaching and holding others accountable.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve goals through influence.</li> <li>Ability to assess and train others.</li> <li>Must be able to communicate in an effective manner with all levels of employees.</li> <li>Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.</li> <li>Outstanding PC/Systems knowledge and skills including 2D and 3D CAD software and PLM databases.</li> <li>Strong communications and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees, customers, and outside professionals.</li> <li>Knowledge dealing with manufacturing situations, quality standards, product development, CAD/CAM, technical specifications, and project management.</li> <li>Travel may be required occasionally.</li></ul> <br> <b>Required Education/Experience:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar technical degree.</li> <li>4 to 7 years of relevant external manufacturing engineering and leadership experience <b>- or -</b> 3 to 5 years of excelling relevant Mueller manufacturing experience, exhibiting strong leadership qualities.</li></ul> <br> <b>Preferred:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Direct experience in valves, controls, or similar applicable industrial products is desirable.</li> <li>Knowledge of AWWA valve specifications.</li> <li>Experience using JD Edward E1 ERP system a major plus.</li> <li>Six Sigma Green Belt desired.</li></ul> <br> <b>Physical Requirements:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Ability to remain in stationary position or standing position for prolonged periods and alternate between</li> <li>Ability to repeat gross or fine manipulation that may include the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.</li> <li>Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, steel-toed or metatarsal-guarded shoes, and/or ear plugs, while working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment. </li> <li>Ability to constantly communicate with others to exchange information in person, via phone, or via use of computer.</li> <li>Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds in weight in all directions.</li> <li>Ability to occasionally reach overhead or at or below shoulder level.</li> <li>Ability to occasionally stoop, crouch, or kneel.</li></ul> <br>We are an equal opportunity employer.
