Machine Operator (4x10 Schedule)

This position is primarily responsible for operating machines in a manufacturing environment; maintaining quality and safety standards; and maintaining equipment and supplies in our Kimball, TN plant<br> <br> <b>Essential Functions:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Operate mills, lathes, rubber, paint, blast, laser, and brake press machines</li> <li>Loads or feeds mechanism by lifting stock into position</li> <li>Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.</li> <li>Maintains specifications by observing machine operation process; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.</li> <li>Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.</li> <li>Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions.</li> <li>Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.</li> <li>Documents actions by completing production and quality logs as directed</li> <li>Will be required to cross train and work in other departments as needed</li></ul> <br> <b>Required: </b> <br> <ul> <li>General math skills with the ability to understand measuring/measurement concepts and their applications.</li> <li>Familiarity with basic tools of measuring and when to use for inspection of parts.</li> <li>Must be organized, detail oriented.</li> <li>Ability to read and use micrometers, calipers, and other quality tools</li> <li>Standing for long periods and lifting up to 50lbs.</li> <li>Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing type environment.</li> <li>Work Safely in the Manufacturing Production Environment.</li> <li>Follow detailed verbal / written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.</li> <li>Read and understand work orders and assembly instructions.</li> <li>Prepare and assemble materials and parts in a manufacturing production environment.</li> <li>Move, process, and organize materials and manufactured products.</li> <li>Perform quality control checks and verification of work order specifications.</li> <li>Properly fill out basic forms, reports, and label products correctly.</li> <li>Communicates and works effectively with others.</li> <li>Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Supervisor.</li> <li>Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.</li></ul> <br> <b>Education & Experience:</b> <br> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED equivalent required or a WorkKeys Score of 3 on Tests for Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents.</li> <li>3 or more years operating applicable machinery in a manufacturing and production environment</li> <li>Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing type environment.</li></ul> <br> <b>Kimball Employee Benefits Include:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Fully air-conditioned facility including production areas</li> <li>Two weeks paid vacation, and personal time (starting)</li> <li>Competitive medical, dental and vision benefits</li> <li>401(k) retirement plan with company match</li> <li>Overtime opportunity</li> <li>Tuition reimbursement</li> <li>Safety shoe stipend</li></ul> <br>We are an equal opportunity employer.
