Maintenance Technician

<b> <b>Basic Job Functions:</b></b> <br> <br> <ul> <li>Ensures machinery and mechanical equipment operation by completing preventive maintenance requirements on presses, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.</li> <li>Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.</li> <li>Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.</li> <li>Assess the time needed to complete a task.</li> <li>Determine the dimensional changes in the parts requirements by inspecting and using the onsite Machine Shop. </li> <li>Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.</li> <li>Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.</li> <li>Fabricates repair parts if needed by using machine shop assistance. </li> <li>Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; informs Supervisor when removed from inventory.</li> <li>Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.</li> <li>Maintains production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <br>Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.<br> <br> <b> <b>Minimum Qualifications:</b></b> <br> <br> <ul> <li>2 - 3 years of experience as an industrial mechanic in a manufacturing facility.</li> <li>Experience with equipment maintenance, technical understanding, technical zeal, and others.</li> <li>Familiarity with drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics. </li> <li>Must be able to work rotational shifts. </li></ul> <br> <b> <b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></b> <br> <br> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, or comparable degree a plus.</li> <li>Industrial Electrical experience, a plus. </li></ul> <br>#LI-EY<br> <br> <b>Nucor is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer - M/F/Disabled/Vets - and a drug - free workplace</b><img src="https://counter.adcourier.com/YmJnZW5lcmljLjc4NzExLjEyNTI0QG51Y29yY29tcC5hcGxpdHJhay5jb20.gif">
