<b>Job Description:</b><p><b>POSITION SUMMARY: </b><p>The Logistics System Specialist is a crucial position that will be responsible for managing the Warehouse Management Systems for the plant. In addition, the position is responsible for coordination effort for such activities as safety, sanitation, quality, manufacturing and customer service performance, product storage, inventory accuracy, and implementation and support of lean initiatives. This position will drive performance standards in coaching and development of Associates, Leads and Managers. This role also handles customer and carrier issues for the site. The result should be quality pet food that meets or exceeds all quality specifications set by Mars Petcare in the amount and schedule indicated by business needs.<p><b> Principal Accountabilities : </b><p>This position is a Warehouse Management Systems expert. It is expected that the Logistics System Specialist will be an expert in implementation of all Warehouse Management Systems, continuous improvement strategies and warehouse operations. This position will also be required to train all associates in the warehouse areas<p><b>What are we looking for? </b><p><b>MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: </b><p>Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing and / or supply chain experience<p>Strong operational knowledge of manufacturing processes &amp; equipment utilizing the materials is required.<p>Additionally, associates in this role will need strong analytical and computer skills in Proficy, SAP, JDA, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. As part of the role, they will learn the key SAP and JDA transactions.<p><ul><li>Good basic math, reading and writing skills.</li><li>Tech savvy</li><li>Good with Microsoft office</li><li>Drive for results</li><li>Good mechanical aptitude.</li><li>High School diploma or equivalent</li><li>Good housekeeping skills and knowledge of GMP's.</li><li>Basic knowledge of personal computers.</li><li>Good problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability and willingness to develop and manage self, demonstrate self-directed workgroup leadership, and contribute to efficiency, quality, and cost optimization with minimal supervision and a positive attitude.</li><li>Ability to lift 50 lbs.</li><li>Ability to operate forklift safely.</li></ul><p><b>What will be your key responsibilities? </b> <br /><b> Leadership &amp; Interpersonal Skills: </b><br /><ul><li> Ability to assess situations early and accurately to take effective and tactful action to correct and improve those situations. </li><li> Successfully resolve conflicts by listening, sharing thoughts, focusing on situations not people, and by helping to create a positive work climate and establishing a feeling of partnership. </li><li> Facilitates efficient operation into the warehouse with a good understanding of the total pipeline. </li><li> Coach associates including managers on proper procedures </li><li> Provide constructive feedback to Operators , leads , and managers </li></ul><br /><b> Communication: </b><br /><ul><li> Ability to communicate effectively with team members both verbally and in written format. </li><li> Seek feedback for improvement. </li><li> Give feedback to associates on the team </li><li> Gain support from others for new ideas and recommendations. </li><li> Ability to communicate effectively with the team </li><li> Relay important information to and from management to the shift and across areas of the plant </li></ul><br /><b> Analysis/Problem Assessment: </b><br /><ul><li> Recognize trends that may lead to problems. </li><li> Identify cause and effect relationships.
