Audiology Assistant
Job Description
An audiology assistant, after appropriate training and demonstration of competency, performs delegated tasks that are prescribed, directed, and supervised by an ASHA-certified and/or licensed audiologist. Audiology assistants can be used to increase the availability, frequency, and efficiency of services. The supervising audiologist retains full legal and ethical responsibility for the patients/clients whom they serve but may delegate specific tasks to the audiology assistant.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Requirement: HS Diploma
Pay based on applicable experience; starting at $16.94
Responsibilities
Assist in education of patients/clients, Assist patients/clients and caregivers in completing case history or other relevant forms (e.g., questionnaires, outcome measure), Assist with clerical duties, Assist with fitting of hearing devices and accessories, Assist with intervention programs (e.g., auditory rehabilitation, tinnitus management, hearing loss prevention), Assist with providing services (e.g., testing), Clean hearing devices, earmolds, and accessories, Communicate with hearing device manufacturers/suppliers, Conduct audiologic testing without clinical interpretation (e.g., hearing screening, pure-tone air conduction thresholds, newborn hearing screening, imittance screening, optoacoustic emission screening), Document and report all patient/client encounters, Maintain inventory of supplies, Order hearing devices, earmolds, and accessories, Perform electroacoustic analysis of hearing devices, Perform infection control, Perform listening checks and visual inspection of hearing devices and accessories, Perform minor modifications to earmolds, custom hearing devices, and custom products, Perform non-diagnostic otoscopes, Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs of hearing devices, earmolds, and accessories, Prepare patient/client materials, equipment, and room based on appointment type, Preset hearing aids, using initial fitting of the manufacturer software prior to fitting appointment, Restore or verify previous patient/client settings of hearing devices, Send hearing devices and accessories for repair, Verify the function and safety of the equipment
