Position Summary

They will be installing, inspecting, repairing and replacing electrical components and wiring. They will also be responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment on board the vessel. This equipment could be anything from pumps and motors to radios and navigation systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning wire runs, pulling wire, terminating wires at panels and electrical components
  • Installing lights, electrical components
  • Building brackets associated with mounting of electrical components
  • Responsible for upgrading components, systems or equipment
  • Use testing and measuring tools such as ohmmeters, oscilloscopes and voltmeters to run diagnostics and check everything is in good working order
  • Replacement of parts or systems will be necessary.
  • Building, wiring, and mounting electrical panels
  • Closely follow maintenance schedules whether routine or yearly
  • Work in a safely manner at all times
  • Accurately record work completed
  • Other tasks may be required associated with the regular operation of the company, assigned by foreman

  • Troubleshooting AC/DC systems
  • Strong understanding of generators and systems
  • Supervise electrical team
  • Create and manage budgets
  • Strong understanding of marine and or industrial electronics

REQUIRED SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Served 4 year apprenticeship
  • Journeymen level experience
  • 5+ years supervisory experience
  • Understanding of MS systems
  • Or; 5+ years marine electrical experience
