DESCRIPTION OF ROLE | KITCHEN PREP
Prepare hot and cold food items for daily service. The Kitchen Prep is also cross-trained and eager to respond to the needs of the team whether it is for line production or customer service. The Kitchen Prep reports to the Head Baker and Executive Pastry Chef.
RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Ginger Fox
  • Follow and practice all company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs and followed and
  • completed on a timely basis
  • Ensure that all customers feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times
  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as soups, dressings, vegetable prep, aioli, cooked meats, savory pie fillings etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the bakery's recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the bakery's preventative maintenance programs
  • Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Mindfully limit, monitor, and record food and packaging waste for the benefit of the business' success and the planet
  • Ensure that all opening, closing, food preparation, and periodic maintenance checklists are completed with 100% attention to detail
  • Participate in kitchen and customer area cleaning activities
  • Recommend measures for improving work procedures and team performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety and team and customer experience
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
  • Assist team in bakery and on the sandwich line with various tasks as needed, and provide any needed service items
  • Attend all scheduled team meetings and actively engage to promote team work and excellence
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow team members to meet guest's needs and support the operation of the restaurant
Requirements
  • Ability to motivate teams and foster sense of community and connection
  • Alignment with Ginger Fox Honor Code and passion for Core V alues
  • Strong communication skills that engage people in a genuine, authentic way
  • Highly organized, able to multi-task, and easily adapts and respond to change
  • Exceptional knife skills, comfortable using kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation protocols
  • Experience in restaurant or commercial kitchen preferred
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
