This position will support the Accounting Department in the primary areas of sales tax reporting and accounts payable functions, including duties and requirements as follows:
Sales tax-related job duties
Facilitate the process of reconciling monthly sales reports and filing sales tax returns
Assist with sales tax research and compliance requirements
Assist with maintenance of the company's sales tax databases and spreadsheets
Support and assist Senior Tax Accountant with various tax-related duties
Report systems or process errors that may cause incorrect tax-reporting
Other accounting-related job duties
Assist with the accounts payable process on a daily/monthly basis, including scanning and coding invoices or receipts for entering into accounting software
Maintain and update various accounting-related spreadsheets
Assist with general business or governmental reporting and compliance as required
Assist with biannual physical inventory process
Other accounting primary or backup duties as assigned by the Senior Financial Accountant
Candidate requirements
A bachelor's degree or 2–3 years of accounting or sales tax experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
Preferred candidate attributes
Exposure to sales tax filing
Ability to research and compose summary of findings
