Document Controller

My client, a leading EPC, is looking for Document Controllers to join their project team in Port Arthur, TX. You will be part of a Documentation team focusing on receiving, processing, monitoring, and expediting internal and external distribution of engineering, procurement, construction, and supplier documentation of a large-scale Client project.
Duties

  • Participate in Project initiation meetings, confers with PM and PEM's to assure delivery and supplier documents meet project requirements
  • Apply knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction processes, documents, information, and project specific processes using standard templates
  • Accountable for project document quality for completeness, format, and compliance with contract and project requirements
  • Submit project documentation to Project teams for approval, and transmits approved documents to client, certifying authority and suppliers
  • Electronically route documents to appropriate staff and facilitates movement of routes when they approach due dates to meet client requirements
  • Track routes and follows up with engineers to meet document turn around guidelines
  • Perform a visual quality check of each document and validate correctness
  • Collaborate with the Document Control supervisor
  • Suggest and develop Document Control Project instruction guides for each newly awarded project and upload to intranet workspace
  • Provide archival services organizing and categorizing legacy paper documents
  • Coordinate pick and retrieval of paper documents to/from service providers
  • Provide reporting for the project team based on project manager and Client needs
  • Meet all project team deliverable timelines and Document Control supervisor requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Associate or Bachelor's Undergraduate degree in Business or similar field of study
  • Document Management Certified Professional
  • Up to 4 years' experience as a Document Controller, assessing quality of drawings and documents
  • Experience handling supplier and engineering documents, incoming and outgoing
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements and adherence to ISO standards as required
  • Experience in the EPC environment, familiar with engineering terms, and document types
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications specifically MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Experience with industry standard document control applications such as MS SharePoint and Documentum CP
