Our Team

The Instrument and Electrical Team is responsible for ensuring our site meets its maintenance and reliability commitments to the business. This role reports into the Maintenance and Engineering Manager and engages with maintenance, operations and reliability teams.

What You Will Do

  • Work cross-functionally with Koch Reliability, Operations and Maintenance teams to optimize instrumentation and electrical projects at the site to produce optimized engineered solutions.
  • Relationship building with all site staff and our customers to be a provider of choice and a preferred partner.
  • Develop engineering packages that meet or exceed the intended project scope while adhering to all EP's, code requirements, and safety specifications.
  • Use Maximo, Smart Plant Instrumentation, Management of Change and project work processes necessary to document and implement projects.
  • Complete/edit specification and data sheets, electrical drawings and loop diagrams for instrumentation and electrical project documentation.
  • Coach and train the Instrumentation and Electrical Technicians in troubleshooting and repair of new project technologies to ensure effective precision maintenance.
  • Manage the integration of instrumentation and electrical technologies into the plant, from all phases of conceptualization to fully operational.
  • Explore and trial innovative technologies and systems to transform processes and equipment.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 3+ years experience in the Instrumentation and Electrical field
  • Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Education in Electrical Engineering, Electrical, Electromechanical, or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in the Instrumentation and Electrical field
  • Experience in the fertilizer, chemical, or refining industries
  • Experience with plant safety and maintenance systems including process safety management, reliability, and safe work practices
  • Project experience with plant instrumentation.
