About the Role 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner, this position will drive business success and HR processes at the East Windsor manufacturing facility. This position will be a key partner in support of the onsite Director, Human Resources Business Partner, and other facility leadership. The position delivers results that support the organizational and functional objectives of the business through ownership of operational functions including payroll, immigration management, HR technology, talent acquisition, compliance, and employee relations. 

The HR Manager works within the HR department at the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility at the East Windsor, NJ location. This position works onsite at the facility four days per week. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Payroll: 

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for East Windsor facility employees on a bi-weekly pay period. 

  • Act as primary point of contact for payroll-related questions, and resolve any issues promptly and efficiently. 

  • Assist in streamlining the payroll process to drive efficiency in data management.  

  • Immigration: 

  • Partner with external immigration experts to manage and process the immigration needs with various work visas and sponsorships.  

  • Submit H1-B, Outstanding Researcher, OPT, and STEM-OPT visa petitions in accordance with USCIS filing period guidelines. 

  • Proactively ensure the East Windsor facility stays current on new and/or revised immigration policy guidelines. 

  • HR Technology: 

  • Support the East Windsor facility’s successful rollout of the Oracle HRIS system. 

  • Manage and keep relevant data current in the HRIS system. 

  • Prepare and analyze reports as needed. 

  • Talent Acquisition: 

  • Support facility leadership and the Talent Acquisition Manager in the recruiting process, including communication with candidates, setting up interviews, and managing logistics to ensure a positive candidate experience. 

  • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure a positive new hire experience. 

  • Compliance and Regulations: 

  • Partner with the Director, Human Resource Business Partner, to ensure that HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment and safety laws and regulations, as well as industry-specific regulations. 

  • Ensure compliance with immigration laws. 

  • Employee Relations: 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to facility employees on HR matters, providing guidance and support on employee relations issues. 

  • Support effective employee relations programs and initiatives. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree. 

  • 3 - 6 years of HR experience. 

  • Prior experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or warehouse environments is strongly preferred. 

  • HR Systems knowledge & experience, including payroll systems. Experience with ADP WorkforceNow preferred. 

  • Experience with managing immigration processes, including H1-B visas and LCAs. 

  • Understanding of labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices. 

  • High level of comfort with change, and bridging the gap between legacy processes and new processes. 

  • Strong process orientation, with an ability to think things through and meet deadlines.  

  • Proven ability to: 

  • Proactively manage the balance between delivery of work products and managing employee relations matters. 

  • Interact with facility leadership as a strategic partner, and to provide direction on HR matters. 

  • Uphold confidentiality.  

  • Set priorities, excel in time management, and have consistent attention to detail.
