J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers seeks an individual responsible for leading and coaching the personnel engaged in chassis preparation and installation of truck bodies. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of automotive transmission, hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding/fabrication.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determine sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, equipment quantity, and personnel skill.
  • Monitor work areas and examine tools and equipment to detect unsafe conditions or violations of procedures or safety rules.
  • Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
  • Examine systems and facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
  • Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees in correcting job-skill deficiencies.
  • Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers.
  • Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
  • Observes and complies with all the provisions of the ISO 9001 QMS.
  • Observes and complies with all safety rules, always including the use of PPE.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include involvement in interviewing, hiring, training, and developing employees. As well as planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Assists the Plant Supervisor in planning work, assigning personnel, monitoring, and evaluating their performance, and writing their performance evaluations.
  • Leads the training, education, and development of department personnel.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
