Job Title: Equipment Engineer III
Pay Rate: $48/hr w2, no benefits
Location: Hybrid Role - Open to Tulsa, OK, or Richardson, TX offices. The candidate must be in the Tulsa or Richardson office a minimum of 12 days a month, with the rest of the days working from home.
About the Role: The Global Management Network (GMN) group, part of Virtual Network Operations & Engineering Organization (VNOE), is seeking an Equipment Engineer III. This role is crucial in managing connectivity to Network Elements across Business, Telecom, and Wireless deployments. The VGMN group is responsible for design engineering, detail engineering, implementation engineering, and project management, supporting Ethernet, Async, and Discrete Alarming.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed equipment engineering for new network build-outs and augments.
  • Create installation specifications (I-Specs) for installation forces, ensuring proper installation, turn-up, inventory, and equipment configuration.
  • Coordinate detail engineering, equipment/hardware/cable ordering, delivery, and installation.
  • Set and track project dates, facilitating communication and coordination between cross-functional teams to ensure successful, on-time project completion.
  • Ensure all work meets applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards.
  • Manage, input, and update engineering databases (e.g., ICON2, UNO/CANVAS, Venue) to reflect new builds, adds, and decommissions.
  • Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on network projects, systems, and processes.
  • Resolve engineering issues in coordination with internal and external organizations.
  • Maintain higher-level privileges and access to system applications required to manipulate engineering data.
Must-Have Skills:
  • 5-10 years of related experience in Equipment/Detailed Engineering.
  • Experience with engineering systems/databases.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Google Suites (Gmail, Google Calendar, G) and MS Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-supervised, and customer-focused individual with strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications business and job-related functional areas.
  • Technical degree strongly preferred, and/or military experience.
  • Previous detail engineering experience is a plus.
  • Experience with proprietary network inventory systems, ICON2.0, is strongly preferred.
