**THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:**

The Sr Manager, Merchandise Operations Systems is responsible for functional expertise and thought leadership in support of the development and execution of the systems strategy and vision for Merchandising, Planning, and Inventory Management at Ulta Beauty. This critical role will lead the Merchandise Operations Systems team and strategic development of a roadmap focused on supporting our Merchandising and Merch Planning & Inventory partners by enhancing and stabilizing the systems those teams use on a day-to-day basis. Scope will also include managing day to day operations of the department, leading and/or overseeing multiple or large scale cross-functional projects, developing ROIs/business cases, establishing and adhering to budgets, and driving accountability for systems adoption and stability. This role is critical to ensuring the right systems are in place to optimize our assortments and best manage our inventory levels and planning/forecasting, resulting in data that can be utilized with trust and confidence throughout the enterprise. In addition to Merchandising and MP&I, this position will work with a number of critical functions at Ulta including IT, Supply Chain, HR, Finance/Accounting, and Merch Ops.

**CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Strategic partner and thought leader to Merchandising and Merch Planning & Inventory (and other departments as necessary) regarding core Merch/MP&I systems, data, and processes

* Ensure Merch/MP&I systems and supporting infrastructure are working as expected and meeting the businesses expectations

* Manage strategic and tactical initiatives, IT/capital projects, and enterprise projects impacting Merch Ops Systems including the development of business cases/ROI, comprehensive project plans, definition and tracking/reporting of success criteria, managing budgets and changes in project scope, identifying potential issues and developing contingency plans, and leading testing efforts (including BRD creation, UAT, etc.).

* Lead resource planning/allocation for project work across teams; Proactively plan and regularly communicate updates to key stakeholders in partnership with business sponsors/project teams

* Build relationships with key cross-functional partners and team focused on collaboration with Merchandise Planning and Inventory, Merchandising, Supply Chain, IT, etc.

* Accountable for the direct management/leadership of the Merch Ops Systems team including recruiting for open roles, performance reviews, workload prioritization, role definition, etc.

* Manage ongoing development of team through setting clear goals/expectations, providing regular and effective coaching, and communicating open/honest feedback

* Lead organization through systems implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and critical stabilization efforts by managing system administration, and the development/adherence to best practices and adoption/change management

* Develop and employ governance structure to ensure ongoing systems and process adoption; measure systems stability and data accuracy to drive efficiencies for the areas we support

**ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Manage various project budgets and timelines in an organized and consistent manner

* Lead Capital Budget planning, procurement, tracking and invoicing

* Collect and report metrics to monitor and optimize project performance

* Work with IT partners on system availability for testing and deployment related activities

**THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:**

* Min 8 years total experience with 5 years direct work experience in project management or in a Merchandise Operations role in retail

* Preferred BA/BS or robust work experience

* High level knowledge of Forecasting, Replenishment, Planning, Allocation, Merchandising, and Master Data Systems/Solutions

* Retail business background with strong communication skills, process-oriented and systems acumen

* Can quickly adjust to shifting priorities, demands and timelines while using analytical and problem solving capabilities

* Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, project team and other departments within the organization

* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment

* Proven history of project management

* Ability to communicate and collaborate with large and diverse audiences
