INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL BILINGUAL SCHOOL COUNSELOR (SY 2024-2025) The International Leadership Charter High School (ILCHS) implements an academically rigorous curriculum that will raise the student's intellectual capacity, provide them with a superior high school education and prepare them for higher education. ILCHS implements a philosophy that calls for high expectations which provide each student with powerful learning experiences that stress complex and engaging activities, relevant content and active discovery of curriculum objectives. We see: Our school as a symbol of intellectual enterprise and accomplishment for young men and women emanating from the Bronx; Our teachers preparing individuals for a world characterized by heterogeneous and increasingly independent societies and a complex global economy; The study of international education as a strategy for integrating local and global issues in an academic setting; Our students as leading the profit, non-profit and governmental sectors around the world Job Description: Provide services and assistance to improve the social and psychological functioning of students and their families to maximize well-being and academic functioning. Assisting parents and students at the International Leadership Charter High School to achieve social and academic goals. Interview and counsel at risk youths, develop and maintain service plans; including long-term and short-term goals. Schedule and facilitate individual and group sessions.Facilitate weekly leadership/conflict resolution workshops with participants. Incorporate leadership and conflict resolution curricula into individual and group sessions. Maintain records and prepare reports. Maintain daily attendance, registration and case referral logs. Counsel students whose behavior, school progress, or mental or physical impairment indicate a need for assistance, diagnosing students' problems and arranging for needed services. Consult with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to determine causes of problems such as truancy and misconduct, and to implement solutions. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

Master's degree in Counseling or Psychology

(or r e c e i v e l i c e n s u r e w i t h i n s i x m o n t h s o f t h e d a t e o f h i r e .) Minimum of three (3) years experience Previous case management, assessment, counseling and crisis intervention preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Strong communication skills required and strong interpersonal skills to work with school, students, parents and community based agencies. Professional clinical experience with students and their families and a commitment to working with parents and students as partners in education.
