<b>Posting Number:</b><br />0601115<br /><br /><b>Position Title:</b><br />Director of Accessibility Services (Temporary)<br /><br /><b>FLSA:</b><br />Non-Exempt<br /><br /><b>Job Type:</b><br />Full-Time<br /><br /><b>Staff Term:</b><br />Other<br /><br /><b>Staff Work Schedule (hours/dates):</b><br />Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm<br /><br /><b>Academic Year Schedule (dates):</b><br />Summer 2024<br /><br /><b>Faculty Term:</b><br /><br /><br /><b>Position Type:</b><br />Staff<br /><br /><b>Department:</b><br />Filene Ctr Acad Adv & Career Svcs<br /><br /><b>Job Summary/Basic Function:</b><br /><div>The Director for Accessibility Services is primarily responsible for:<br /><br /></div><ul><li>Ensuring students with disabilities have equal access to all campus programs, services, and activities in compliance with <span>ADA</span>.</li><li>Providing direct academic support services to students with disabilities.</li><li>Assisting faculty and staff in providing accommodations and developing appropriate academic success plans.</li><li>Acting as a liaison between Accessibility Services and other campus offices such as the Counseling Center, Health Services, Dean of Students Office, Advising, Admissions, and Residence Life.</li></ul><br /><br /><b>Minimum Qualifications:</b><br /><ul><li>Master’s degree in Higher Education, Psychology/Counseling or Special Education, related field.</li><li>At least 5-10 years of experience working with students with disabilities, some of which must be at the post-secondary level.</li><li>Experience with case management and provision of academic support services.</li><li>Experience implementing and maintaining assistive technology.</li><li>Knowledge of physical, mobility, medical, psychological, sensory, learning and developmental disabilities, relevant documentation, and provision of accommodations for students within a small college, residential setting.</li></ul><br /><br /><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b><br /><br /><br /><b>Compensation and Benefits:</b><br /><div>To attract and retain the most talented individuals, Wheaton College maintains a flexible and competitive staff compensation and <a href="https://wheatoncollege.edu/about-wheaton-college/offices-services/human-resources/employee-benefits-and-policies/"><strong>benefits</strong></a> program.<br /><br />When determining and establishing hiring rates or recruitment ranges for a position, the College considers a number of factors including the budget for the position, the range of the grade, the external market for the position or similar positions, level and scope of responsibilities, required education, skills and relevant experience as well as internal equity.
