Jefferson Healthcare (www.jeffersonhealthcare.org) is currently looking for a Director of Cardiopulmonary and Physical Rehabilitation Services and Wellness . The role involves overseeing the planning, administration, and direction of Physical Rehabilitation Services (including physical, occupational, and speech therapies), Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, and Wellness programs. These services are provided in various settings such as inpatient, outpatient, swing bed, and within community-based wellness initiatives. The Director will also serve as a liaison to Community/Wellness agencies and ensure that department activities and outcomes are in line with the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values.

This is a full-time, exempt position, and will remain open until filled .

Qualifications:

  • Current Active Washington State Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Compact license, Washington State Occupational Therapist license, or Washington State Speech - Speech-Language pathologist or ASLP-IC license required
  • Minimum of seven years' experience in a clinical setting required
  • Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience required
  • Must stay current in knowledge base, certifications and licenses indicated above, and meet Hospital-mandated education requirements

Responsibilities:


  • Develops, facilitates and manages the budgets for all departments. Prepares and manages budget to assure financial accountability. Reports budget accountability to CASSO regularly
  • Leads and directs departmental functions including staffing and training
  • Oversees and maintains a positive work environment by ensuring employee motivation through training, provision of proper tools and equipment, a safe work environment, balanced workloads, and appropriate rewards and recognition
  • Directs the Department at a professional level commensurate with the goals and objectives of JH
  • Communicates Hospital District objectives, standards, and policies through participation in surveys, meetings, and staff conferences
  • Completes mandatory and departmental safety reviews as required
  • Continually seeks ways to improve service, quality, and decrease cost
  • Develops performance standards and skills lists for each job and updates these no less than every 2 years. Ensures staff is familiar with these performance standards
  • Performs annual staff performance appraisals
  • Oversees supervisors in orienting new staff
  • Facilities training and education for all staff. In Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab ensures ACLS and rhythm strip reading proficiency are completed.
  • Serves as rehabilitative therapy consultant to employers, physicians, educational institutions, and community organizations
  • Coordinates with Revenue Cycle team to ensure appropriate billing flows, denial defense strategies, and works daily queues to assist in getting charges out in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates with our Clinical Informatics team to have efficient documentation strategies, developing smart phrases and templates to ensure efficient and timely documentation.
  • Ensures Accreditation is attained and maintained and that programs maintain appropriate credentials
