Grants Accountant

We are currently seeking a Grants Accountant to join our team. As a Grants Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our organization's grants activities. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of grant revenue, expenses, and receivables, as well as monitoring compliance with grant requirements. Status: Full-Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of Position:

The Grant Accountant applies the principles of accounting to provide detailed specialized reports of expense information and will often require the preparation of detailed billing invoices for presentation to our customers specializing in Grant and Federal funding contracts.

Prepare, review, and submit grant proposals in collaboration with the executive team
Monitor and track grant spending to ensure compliance with grant requirements
Maintain accurate accounting records of grant revenue and expenses
Prepare financial reports for Grants Manager
Conduct regular audits of grant-related documents and make necessary adjustments
Collaborate with program managers and staff to gather necessary financial data for grant reporting
Assist in the preparation of project budgets and monitor budgetary discrepancies

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in grants accounting or related field.
Strong knowledge of grant regulations and accounting principles.
Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
