Position Description <p> <strong>Primary purpose:</strong><strong></strong><br /><ul><li>To operate and maintain the cathodic protection (CP) facilities through planning and implementation of corrosion control activities for pipelines, tanks and other facilities including design, installation, operation, and maintenance.</li></ul><strong> </strong><br /><strong>Essential duties and responsibilities:</strong><br /><ul><li>Design, install, operate, and maintain rectifiers and groundbeds for cathodic protection.</li><li>Maintain rectifiers which protect tanks externally with impressed current.</li><li>Maintain a sacrificial anode system.</li><li>Supervise contract crews coating pipelines and tanks and installing various CP systems.</li><li>Conduct CIS surveys and analyze data.</li><li>Follow analysis of data with any remedial actions needed.</li><li>Supervise direct assessment, ILI pig runs and remedial measures indicated.</li><li>Conduct coating inspections and repairs on pipelines and tanks.</li><li>Use ultrasonic thickness testing to determine metal integrity on piping and tanks.</li><li>Installation and maintenance of CP test stations, pipeline, and aerial markers.</li><li>Repair buried negatives.</li><li>Conduct periodic surveys using DOT criteria to ensure proper CP protection.</li><li>Maintain good standing with all required training.</li><li>Locate production and injection lines with line finding equipment.</li><li>One call response, including be able to complete emergency One Call Tickets in 2hr window.</li><li>Pipeline locating and temporary marking in response to One Call requests.</li></ul> <br /> Position Requirements <p> <strong> Minimum </strong><strong> requirements</strong>:<br />Education:<br /><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li></ul>Experience / specific knowledge:<br /><ul><li>None</li></ul>Certifications, licenses, registrations:<br /><ul><li>Maintain a satisfactory driving record as determined by the company and a current, valid State driver's license</li><li>Subject to random drug testing</li><li>Must have the ability to distinguish basic colors</li></ul> <br />Competencies, skills, and abilities:<br /><ul><li>Basic computer skills with assigned programs</li><li>Able to work with limited supervision</li><li>Ability to work from written or verbal instructions</li><li>Proficient at operation of necessary equipment</li></ul> <br />Physical demands:<br /><ul><li>Primarily outside work</li><li>Frequently lift and carry, unassisted, items weighing up to 50 pounds</li><li>Walking, climbing, standing, and sitting</li><li>Some inside work for training, working on computer</li></ul> <br />Working conditions:<br /><ul><li>Shift work, alternating days, nights, holidays, weekends</li><li>Overtime required</li><li>Emergency response</li><li>Callouts</li><li>On-call</li></ul>Supervisory responsibility:<br /><ul><li>None.</li></ul><br />Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:<br /> Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position: <br /><ul><li>Associates or technical degree</li></ul> <br /><strong>Other responsibilities:</strong><br /><ul><li>Expected to progress to Corrosion Tech 2 within two (2) years</li></ul> <br /><strong>Things that will prevent progression:</strong><ul><li>Noncompliance with safety rules.</li><li>Non completion of required training within time frame required.</li><li>Being on a corrective action plan within the past 12 months.</li><li>One or more "Does not meet expectations" on yearly performance evaluation.</li><li>Failure to maintain licenses and certifications necessary for job task.</li></ul><p>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER STATEMENT: We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class. <img src="https://ars2.equest.com/? response_id=25993b2bae227c0eae31a887c1fd1619&view" alt=" " width="1" height="1"/>
