Position Description <p> <ul><li>Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of warehouse operations. This includes sale of surplus equipment, management of inventory and expediting of equipment and resources as required.</li><li>Learn and apply standards and processes consistently with supervision.</li><li>Demonstrate an understanding of investment recovery practices and approaches.</li><li>Understand accounting practices related to inventory and surplus sales transactions. </li><li>Perform duties with strict adherence to Kinder Morgan's Corporate Policy.</li><li>Monitor inventory levels, ensure appropriate levels are maintained by tracking return rates and conduct physical audits.</li><li>Participate in the maintenance and support of the Lawson Item Master.</li><li>Assist Project Management and Operations by locating needed materials throughout Kinder Morgan.</li><li>Assist Operations in identifying surplus and obsolete inventory.</li><li>Work on inventory requirements associated with acquisition integration and divestures.</li><li>Work with field personnel on a routine basis to set and track minimum and maximum inventory levels.</li><li>Perform analysis of inventory mix, production demand and interface regarding levels of inventory.</li><li>Complete special projects as assigned.</li><li>Facilitate surplus sales and redeployments throughout Kinder Morgan.</li><li>Act as a liaison between the Business Unit and the Investment Recovery Company.</li><li>Work with internal and external customers to achieve annual investment recovery goal.</li><li>Execute Purchase Agreements and Bills of Sale.</li><li>Ensure completeness and accuracy of orders for project materials delivered to staging warehouse.</li><li>Assist buyers and vendors with material order issues.</li><li>Provide timely updates to Project Management on project material status.</li><li>Resolve any material discrepancies, shortages or damages.</li><li>Ensure product moves seamlessly.</li><li>Coordinate loading out of project materials with construction contractors, freight carriers and/or Project Support.</li><li>Communicate with cross-functional teams to identify process flow efficiencies and develop standardized procedures.</li><li>Operate forklifts, vehicles, and equipment.</li><li>Operate under safety, environmental and ethical guidelines</li></ul> <br /> Position Requirements <p> <ul><li>0-3 years of experience in Materials Management, Purchasing, Operations, Engineering or related field preferred. This is an entry level position and should be reserved for those right out of college. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power Point. </li><li>Knowledge and certification of forklift operations.</li><li>Knowledge of materials such as loose fittings, valves, pipe, etc.</li><li>Safety awareness.</li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.</li><li>Subject to random drug testing.</li><li>Must be self-directed, take initiative, and be an out-of-the-box thinker.</li><li>Must be self-directed, take initiative, and be an out-of-the-box thinker.</li><li>Must be able to perform essential functions of the job.</li><li>Must be able to multitask while providing timely and accurate turnaround on tasks, sometimes with strict deadlines.</li><li>Take direction from Procurement Management or Senior level peers.</li><li>Must be detail-oriented. </li><li>Must have strong communication (written and verbal), organization, problem-solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with levels of management and employees in corporate, regional and field offices with tact, courtesy and professionalism.</li><li>Work effectively across Business Units. </li><li>Maintain a regular, dependable attendance, and high level of job performance.</li><li>Follow company policies and procedures.</li><li>Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.</li><li>Must be able to hear and speak clearly.</li><li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. </li><li>Must meet medical criteria for use of respiratory protective equipment, if required.</li><li>Outside work 50% / office work 50%.</li><li>Frequently lift and carry, unassisted, items weighing up to 50 pounds</li><li>Walking, climbing, standing, and sitting</li><li>Travel may be required across a broad geographic region, as determined by Hiring Manager. </li><li>Job level and salary commensurate with experience and skill sets.
