Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe and Efficient Transport: Operate assigned Peterbilt 579 Ultralofts to transport reefer freight (primarily pork) with utmost care, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Equipment Operation: Manage and maintain your assigned truck, which includes automatic transmission, APUs, refrigerators, and power inverters. Ensure the vehicle is in excellent working condition and report any issues promptly.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of freight. Address any issues or delays proactively and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all federal and state regulations regarding transportation and reefer equipment. Maintain accurate logs and records as required.
  • Professionalism: Represent the company with professionalism and integrity while on the road. Foster positive relationships with customers, dispatch, and fellow drivers.
Requirements:
  • Valid CDL-A License: Must hold a current and valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience: Proven experience handling reefer freight is preferred. Ability to operate and manage reefer equipment and understand temperature control requirements.
  • Physical Fitness: Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including long hours of driving and handling freight.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to be out on the road for up to 3 weeks at a time with the flexibility to handle varying routes and schedules.
  • Safety Conscious: A strong commitment to safety and compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Customer-Oriented: Excellent communication skills and a dedication to providing high-quality customer service.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Pay Rate: $0.62 per mile (includes $0.10 per mile per diem)
  • Home Time: 2 weeks out, with one day home for every week out. Option to be out up to 3 weeks.
  • Vacation: 1 week in the first year, 2 weeks in the second year.
  • Pet Policy: Dogs up to 60 lbs allowed; $75 a week, up to $750.
  • Rider Policy: Must be at least 6 years old; $16 a month.
