Coding Specialist - Inpatient

## Overview

Seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder with at least 5 years of inpatient coding experience. The ideal candidate is proficient in query writing, including drafting and responding to queries with necessary clinical indicators, MCCs, and DRG assignment. Experience coding for a Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching facility is required. A production rate of 2 – 2.5 charts per hour is expected.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Coding:* Accurately code inpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
* *Query Writing:* Draft and respond to queries to ensure accurate documentation and coding.
* *DRG Assignment:* Assign appropriate DRGs based on patient records.
* *Compliance:* Adhere to coding guidelines, regulations, and hospital policies.
* *Productivity:* Meet the required production rate while maintaining accuracy.

*Qualifications:*
* 5+ years in inpatient coding.
* Recent experience utilizing Epic and 3M360
* Strong query writing skills.
* Experience in Level I Trauma and academic teaching facilities.

*Certifications:*
* AHIMA (CCS, RHIT, or RHIA)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
