Job Summary:  

 

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team at Emerald Nursing & Rehab Cozad , a leading skilled nursing facility committed to providing exceptional care to our residents. The CMA will play a crucial role in administering medications, monitoring resident health, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all individuals under our care. This position offers flexibility with scheduling and is ideal for those looking to work on an as-needed basis.  

 

Work Environment:  

 

This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.  

 

Responsibilities :  

  • Medication Administration : A ccurately administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with facility protocols and p hysician orders. Ensure proper documen ta tion of medication administration and report any discrepancies or issues to the supervising nurse.
  • R esident Monitoring : Observe and document changes in residents' conditions, including vi ta l signs and any adverse reactions to medications. Communicate observations and concerns to the nursing s ta ff and assist with any necessary follow-up actions.
  • Health and Safety Compliance : Main ta in a clean and organized medication storage area. Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols to ensure a hygienic and safe environment for residents.
  • Resident Support : Provide compassionate and respectful assis ta nce to residents, addressing their needs and preferences while fostering a supportive and empathetic atmosphere.
  • Communication : Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to coo rdinate care plans and ensure that residents' needs are met. Communicate effectively with residents' families regarding medication-related concerns and changes in health s ta tus.
  • Documen ta tion : Ac curately complete all required documen ta tion, including medication administration records, resident health observations, and incident reports
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory s ta ndards and facility policies.  

Qualifications:  

  • E ducation : High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional relevant training or coursework in healthcare or medication administration is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or similar environment, is preferred but not required .
  • Certifications: Current certification as a Medication Aide (CMA) as required by NE regulations.
  • C ommunications : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals and build positive relationships with residents and their families.
  • Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and tran s fer residents as needed, and to perform ta sks that require physical s ta mina a nd endurance.
