Full Time: Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow- Labor & Delivery (Nights)

The Labor and Delivery Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a full-time, night shift Registered Nurse Fellow to join the March 2025 cohort! This position is 3 x 12 hour shifts, 7:00pm to 7:00am The Labor and Delivery Unit is located within the Inova Women's Hospital at on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, Virginia. Inova Fairfax Hospital is ranked in the top 20 hospitals in the nation for obstetrics and gynecology by U.S. News & World Report. For expectant parents, all of our facilities at Inova Women's Center on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus offer spacious and beautifully decorated, private labor-delivery recovery rooms designed with your comfort in mind, yet fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology in case of unexpected complications. Our unit has 33 L&D beds and 6 C-Section ORs. Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:2. Inova Fairfax Hospital performs over 10,000 births each year and is a leader in care for high risk pregnancies. Our nursing staff is made up of highly skilled clinicians with experience in obstetric care. In-house anesthesiologists and neonatologists/pediatricians are available 24 hours a day. The Inova RN Fellow: * The RN Fellowship program will develop the necessary clinical skills to practice nursing in a competent manner within a specified service line. The RN Fellow, in an atmosphere of acceptance and support, will learn under the direct supervision of an experienced RN and through various other training formats. * The RN Fellow participates in learning new knowledge, developing new skills, and meeting program objectives to be able to practice in assigned patient care delivery setting utilizing and applying new knowledge. The RN Fellow will be given time to learn, opportunities to practice, and mentoring to imbed the newly learned skills and knowledge. * Communicates effectively with patients and families, team members and medical providers. Creates a collaborative team working environment. Has respect for and understanding of clinical disciplines. Uses a focused, integrated approach toward improving patient outcomes and the patient experience of care delivery. Requirements: Required Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse or RN changing specialty area of practice. General Requirements: o Proficient in English, strong verbal, and written communication skills o Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others o Values team collaboration o Proficient computer skills required Minimum Education Requirement: Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
