Cumberland Mutual is seeking a Finance Intern to join our Finance Department. Our internship program will provide real world hands-on statutory accounting and finance experience in the insurance industry. This position provides exposure to the key processes in the Accounting and Finance department like accruals, journal entries, accounts payable, and financial reporting. This hybrid internship program will work 20-27 hours per week. Days and hours are flexible. It is preferred that the candidate will report to the Bridgeton, New Jersey office one day per week on Tuesdays, while working the remaining of the week from home.
Job Qualifications (Duties and Responsibilities):

• Assist department with monthly closing responsibilities to meet various deadlines
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, as needed
• Assist with internal and external financial reporting requirements
• Work independently on ad-hoc projects

• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Current Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance (Preferred).
