  • Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+

Responsibilities:
  • Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards

  • Familiarity with project scope, specifications, and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team

  • Produce medium complex, complete design calculations and assignments

  • Produce reports for client and/or regulatory agencies

  • Provide design assistance on larger and more complex assignments

  • Checking calculations made by other engineers to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria and conformance to good engineering practice

  • Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies. Assist with drafting of plans and details for the completion of engineering drawings

  • Perform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support. Perform land development and zoning code research for civil-site development projects
  • Develop written construction specifications that define the scope of work, provide specific instruction, and prescribe quality standards
  • Work with discipline lead engineer in identifying scope changes in projects
  • Review and check submittal drawings and documentation
  • Ability to lead small size teams in coordinating civil efforts and keeping the team focused on scope, schedule and budget
  • Assist with estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of civil/structural work
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 4 - 7 years of experience in Structural Engineering
  • Professional licensure is required. Engineer in Training (EIT) registration may be considered if Professional licensure can be obtained in the first six (6) months of employment
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining focus and re-prioritizing as necessary to meet multiple commitments
  • Knowledge and application of associated standards (ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, AREMA, NRCS, NFPA, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of civil stormwater analysis software (SSA, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and/or ICPR) including operating and interpreting results
  • Ability to actively listen and ascertain the needs of Teammates and Clients. Ability to work with a team to complete small and large projects
  • Able to assist with the development of presentations of Client's services
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Civil3D software is a plus
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships are developed, and able to provide interoffice execution leadership and support.
