We are excited to announce the opportunity for a Design Technology Solutions Specialist to join our esteemed Design Technology Services (DTS) department. This key position is integral to the success of DTS's multi-wing department. This employee will work a hybrid schedule out of one of our Colliers Engineering & Design offices.

Responsibilities

As a Design Technology Solutions Specialist, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, aimed at enhancing and supporting multiple departments. In this role, you will:

  • Application Support and Optimization: Provide expert application support tailored to AEC project workflows, ensuring seamless and efficient integration of design technology into project processes. Enhance the design process by optimizing software usage and performance. Support training sessions and staff education on best practices to maximize the effectiveness of design tools.
  • Advanced Software Utilization: Utilize advanced features and functionalities of design technology tools to improve project outcomes. Provide expert guidance on best practices and innovative uses of design software.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with project teams to implement and optimize design technology applications within project workflows. Ensure that applications are used efficiently and effectively across all projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively engage in cross-functional collaboration with IT, software development, and design technology teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring efficient problem resolution and user satisfaction.
  • User Training and Documentation: Provide basic user training and guidance on the use of design technology tools and software. Maintain documentation of support processes, troubleshooting procedures, and solutions for common technical issues.
  • Proficiency in Key Software Suites: Maintain and demonstrate advanced proficiency in a range of Autodesk and Bentley software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit,
  • MicroStation, Bentley Open products (Road, Rail, etc.) and other pertinent tools. Stay abreast of the latest updates, features, and functionalities of these software applications and leverage them to improve project outcomes.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Ensure comprehensive documentation of all training materials, help desk solutions, and project information for future reference and knowledge sharing. You will aid in developing user guides, technical manuals, and standard operating procedures for newly implemented tools and systems.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: An associate degree or comparable technical accreditation in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Or equivalent of 5 years of experience in the above fields.
  • Professional Experience: Previous experience in technical support, software development, or a related field is desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity and hands-on experience with Autodesk and/or Bentley software suites, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation and Bentley Open products (Road, Rail, etc.).
  • ServiceNow Experience: Proficiency in using ServiceNow or similar helpdesk ticketing systems.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to users of varying technical proficiency.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical team members and employees.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous Learning and Adaptability: A commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of the latest trends and advancements in design technology. The ability to adapt to new technologies and challenges in a fast-paced environment is a must.
  • Additional Considerations: Certifications in relevant software or technologies are desirable.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
