Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the financial processing of transactions for an organization. Their duties include daily bookkeeping and record keeping, financial reporting and the preparation of tax records for financial audits. Accounts Payable Specialists assist companies with invoicing and billing.

Key duties and responsibilities of an Accounts Payable Specialist include:

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, including validation of approval and matching of PO and receiving documents, as necessary
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner
  • Verify the accuracy of invoice GL coding and resolve any discrepancies with respective departments
  • Prepare and process weekly check runs or electronic payments
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status or discrepancies
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with new and existing vendors
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as accounting regulations and standards.
  • Assists with other accounting duties as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or 5 years experience in relevant positions
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of accounting software and Excel
  • Comfortable with math and calculations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Pay Range: $18-25 DOE
