CLASSIFICATION: Sanitation Associate
REPORTS TO: Sanitation Manager
DEPARTMENT: Sanitation
Overhill Farms is a leading custom manufacturer of high quality prepared frozen foods, serving customers in the branded retail, private label and foodservice sectors. We provide a one-stop solution that offers new product development or precise replication of existing recipes as well as product manufacturing and packaging. Our custom product lines include poultry, meat and fish specialties, pastas, soups, sauces, certified organic and vegetarian offerings. These can be prepared as entrées, plated meals or bulk-packed meal components.

SUMMARY:
The Sanitation Associate will clean and sanitize equipment, floors, walls, tooling trays and related items within the plant according to U.S.D.A. regulations. Uses hoses, squeegees, mops, brooms, sponges, rags and other cleaning equipment. Mixes, transports and applies chemicals and other cleaners. Moves, stacks or relocates troughs, bins, trays and other containers and equipment as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
  • Disassembles equipment, foam, rinse, sanitize and reassembles production lines for use.
  • Prepares approved chemical (with supervision) and transports to areas to be cleaned or sanitized.
  • Wash bins, totes, shovels and other utensils for production use.
  • Clean and maintain all production areas according to USDA/SQF regulations, and other areas supporting the operation as needed.
  • Use power equipment such as high-pressure hoses, vacuums, floor sweepers, scrubbers and chemical foamers/sanitizer machines.
  • Replenishes/refill soap, sanitizer and towels in all production and non-production areas.
  • Collects and transport production waste to designated INEDIBLE area.
  • Use hand tools such as squeegees, brooms and shovels.
  • Train on lockout tag out (LOTO)
  • Operate a forklift only if certified.
  • Ensure that all health and safety guidelines are followed with GMP compliance.
  • Reports potential issues to management.
  • Heavy lifting up to 50lbs.
