HOURLY PAY= $22.00 PER HOUR
SUMMARY
The Blend Operator is responsible for strictly adhering to all food safety, quality assurance, and GMP policies and procedures during processing. Under the supervision of the Plant Supervisor, the Blend Operator is responsible for batching in the production of finished dairy goods. This position is also responsible for operating and maintaining various equipment to mix and blend ingredients according to specified methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Follows mix batching schedule and ensures that all raw batching is completed in accordance to formulation and standards. Batch sheets will be the source of the formulation for all mixes.
  • Closely monitors the dairy production process and follows Standard Operating Procedures for batching and processing products. Monitors fats, total solids, allergen, cryoscopy and other related items as they associate with processing dairy products; reports any deficiencies.
  • Ensure that all pre-operational, system start-up, and in-process monitoring activities are completed in accordance with the HACCP Plan.
  • Operates and monitors blending equipment, making adjusts when necessary, and performs troubleshooting with ability to resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
  • Ensures that all food safety, quality assurance, and GMP policies and procedures are strictly adhered to during the blending process.
  • Maintains compliance and ensure that all raw ingredients and materials are handled in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations, internal food safety requirements, and organic requirements and in accordance with regulatory standards that are established by GMP, OSHA, FDA, WDATCP and USDA.
  • Maintain communication and cooperation with other employees, supervisors/managers, and departments; notify appropriate personnel of any issues or concerns that may reduce efficiency and/or quality of production.
  • Properly conduct and document the system verification and monitoring activities of the operation of blending equipment. Accurately prepare and maintain batch records, and all area paperwork, along with legal charts and documents.
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment including CIP/SIP & hand cleaning; Responsible for general housekeeping to ensure a clean, sanitary and safe work area.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Prior experience in food manufacturing with blending/mixing equipment preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires reaching, handling, climbing, and near and far vision.
Able to lift 75 lb. safely and repetitively, and push/pull up to 200lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposed to a noise level of 90 decibels. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/high.
Wet/slippery work conditions.
