The Department of Family Medicine (FM) at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine seeks applications for Assistant Professor - UVA Employee Primary Care. The successful candidate will serve as the Family Medicine physician lead/medical director at the Employee Primary Care clinic, a clinic slated to open in the Multistory building on grounds at UVA. 

Position Details

The incumbent will be responsible for direct patient care 7 half day outpatient sessions/week and teaching and supervision of residents and medical students.  The medical director serves as the clinician who oversees and guides the care that is provided, a leader to help define a vision of quality improvement, an operations consultant to address day-to-day aspects of organizational function, and a direct supervisor and consultant to Advance Practice Providers practicing in this location.

The employee primary care clinic will provide access to a full suite of comprehensive in-person and virtual health and wellness services for the employees of UVA and UVA Health.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-certified or board-eligible by either the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians by the start date.  Preference will be given to candidates who practice obstetrics, have experience with care of hospitalized patients, those with procedural or POCUS experience and have residency teaching experience or have completed a fellowship in family medicine.
