Custodian/Housekeeping

Wheeling University, a Catholic university, seeks part-time and full-time custodians to join our team. We have multiple shifts available.

This position performs routine cleaning and housekeeping tasks in the upkeep of campus buildings or areas of assignment. Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide cleaning services to all areas of the campus, common areas and buildings to include: Empties trash containers and removes trash to disposal areas. Cleans and dusts furniture, fixtures, shelving, cabinets, door and window trim, andrelated furnishings; waxes furniture. Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors; vacuums and shampoos rugs, and carpets. Washes and/or cleans pictures as well as windows and door glass. Cleans restrooms/bathrooms; disinfects fixtures; replaces supplies. Reports items that require repair and maintains stock of supplies. Aids in moving furniture, supplies, and equipment between departments andthroughout the campus. May participate in setting up, arranging, and taking down furniture for special events. May sweep or shovel snow from building entrances. Performs other duties as assigned within the scope, responsibility, and requirements of the job.
