Structural Engineer

Job Title: Structural Engineer Job Description Seeking a Structural Engineer with experience in the design and construction of concrete and steel tankage, masonry buildings, concrete structures, and steel frame structures (e.g., walkways, stairs, pipe supports). Expertise in water and wastewater treatment facilities is essential. This position will provide structural engineering support for a broader range of projects. Responsibilities include developing the basis of design, coordinating structural elements in support of process design, directing the design team for drawing and specification preparation, and supporting construction phase services. Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Saint Charles, Illinois. Work Environment This civil engineering and design firm specializes in municipal and public projects and is mid-sized with around 55 employees. The staff includes engineers, architects, construction managers, surveyors, inspectors, and drafting technicians. The firm recently won a $130 million project with the Village of Addison, which will span 6-7 years with 3 phases. The office has a 'homey' feel with a spread-out layout, kitchen, gym, and even a dog. There is an outdoor area with tables for lunch and grill-outs on the patio. The location is near various shopping and restaurants in Downtown St. Charles. Additional Skills & Qualifications BS and a Master's degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent Minimum 5 years of experience; ideally looking for a 15+ year Engineer SE preferred; open to candidates with SIT Expertise in reinforced concrete and steel design Experience in soils and foundation design Experience in temporary structures and formwork Experience in masonry and wood framing About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
